National IP Right Safeguarding and Aid Work Conference held

On the morning of January 7, the National IP Right Safeguarding and Aid Work Conference was held in Haikou, Hainan province. Deputy Director of the State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO) Gan Shaoning attended the conference and delivered an important speech.
Gan Shaoning firstly affirmed the achievements made in IP right safeguarding and aid in recent two years. Gan Shaoning said that, in these two years, SIPO agreed to set up 61 IP right safeguarding and aid centers in 29 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities, and preliminarily built the work system of IP right safeguarding and aid in the nation. As of December 25, 2009, the 55 centers with the report and complaint number 12330 answered 59,253 telephones, totaling 743 hours. Beijing IPR Service Center received the most telephone calls, reaching 10,000 or more.
It is informed that, Beijing IPR Service Center received 2,392 reports and complaints, of which 129 were transferred to law enforcement departments and 122 have been ended. Wuhan IP Right Safeguarding and Aid Center received 781 times of reports, complaints and IPR consultations, of which 106 were transferred and 83 were ended.
