Beijing captures 1.1 million illegal books in 2009

It is introduced by Director of Beijing "Anti-Pornography and Anti-Illegal Publication" Office Zhao Anliang that, in 2009, Beijing Municipal cultural law enforcement system totally accepted 1,076 complaints, investigated 433 cases, handed over 14 cases, and captured 1,133,000 illegal books and 492,000 illegal audio and video products. 2,039 suspects in cultural markets and "anti-pornography and anti-illegal publication" fields were captured, each level's procuratorial organ totally ratified the arrest of 436 suspects concerning 381 cases, prosecuted 395 suspects in 291 cases, and each level's court resolved 414 cases including 482 suspects.
 
Vice Mayor of Beijing People's Government Cai Fuchao stressed that, under the background of financial crisis, some small-scaled printing enterprises printing illegal publications are increased, each county and district should strengthen the administration on printing enterprises.

At the meeting, Beijing "Anti-Pornography and Anti-Illegal Publication" Office deployed the next year's work.
