General Administration of Press and Publication held "2009 press conference on special campaign" on January 20, Director of Copyright Management Division of State Copyright Office Wang Zhicheng introduced the situation of "Special Campaign against Online Pirates", and informed the achievements of the special campaign.

It is introduced that, the special campaign carried out work focusing on two aspects. The first is to put emphasis on the infringing behaviors in the fields of online film spread and literature websites, and strictly combat the behaviors of spreading pornographic and illegal contents. The second is to strengthen the initiative supervision on internet enterprises and websites.

Wang expressed that, during the action, each area implemented initiative supervision to a total of 3,130 key websites, each level's departments totally investigated 558 internet infringing cases, cracked down on 375 illegal websites, adopted 556 measures for law enforcement on infringing contents, fined 1.33 million yuan, and captured 163 servers. Moreover, they delivered 25 key criminal cases to judicial departments. The special campaign gains remarkable achievements and effectively restricts online pirates.
