Beijing's cultural and creative industries increases steadily for 6 years

At present, Beijing has more than 50,000 various kinds of cultural and creative enterprises, of which nearly 8,000 above-scale enterprises absorbed over one million employees. Beijing's cultural and creative industry has increased steadily for 6 years.

It is reported that from 2004 to 2007, Beijing's cultural and creative industries achieved industrial added values of 61.36 billion yuan, 70.04 billion yuan, 81.2 billion yuan, 99.26 billion yuan, respectively accounting for 10.1%, 10.2%, 10.3% and 10.6% of the GDP in the same years, and the proportions have increased gradually with an annual growth rate of 17.4%. In 2008, the added value of Beijing cultural and creative industries achieved 134.64 billion yuan, accounting for 12.1% of the same year's GDP; in 2009, the added value achieved 149.77 billion yuan, accounting for 12.6% the same year's GDP, and realized the target of "Eleventh Five-Years" planning for the cultural and creative industries ahead of schedule.
