ZTE announced during the exhibition in Barcelona that, as of the end of 2009, the company has accumulatively applied for a total of more than 1,700 pieces of LTE/SAE patents, and will be one of the principal owners of basic patents with LTE/SAE standard. According to statistics, ZTE has had more than 25,000 patent applications, and completed more than 6,000 patent applications in 2009.

In June 2009, the world's leading telecom consulting institution Gartner released "Scorecard for LTE Network Equipment Manufacturer", which carried out rating for the present 10 leading vendors on seven aspects including LTE products and services and overall viability to reflect the manufacturers' comprehensive strength on aspect of LTE. ZTE ranks among the world's top three with its continued investment and good performance in the field of LTE in recent years.
