The State Council recently released the Guidance on Accelerating the Development of Sports Industry (hereinafter referred to as Guidance). It explicitly stated the development and protection of intangible assets of sports industry would be enhanced. We should strengthen the guiding role of IPR on various sports enterprises and improve the sports industry's IP innovation, application, protection and management level.

Guidance pointed out the need to strengthen the development and protection of sports industry's intangible assets. We should intensify the development of intangible assets of sports industry's IP like sports organizations, names of sports events and activities, logos.

Guidance stressed the need to strengthen the guiding role of intellectual property on various sports enterprises to enhance the sports industry's IP innovation, application, protection and management level. We will introduce advanced foreign technology and learn from their advanced managerial experience. At the same time, we need to increase our independent R&D and scientific research capability and accelerate the application of research result. We will conduct research and develop hi-tech products with independent IPR.

We should enhance sports product's brand building and promote trademark strategy among sports enterprises. Give more meaning to the contents of sports brand trademarks so as to increase the added value and enhance the market competitiveness of sports products.
