SIPO Commissioner: China will provide support for World Expo IPR protection

Commissioner of the State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO) Tian Lipu said in Beijing on April 26, at the incoming World Expo, Chinese Government will provide effective IPR protection for the innovative achievements of all other countries in the world.
Base on what Tian Lipu said, IPR is an activator in inspiring innovation as well as a guardian in maintaining the sound development of innovation. Expo 2010 Shanghai China itself is a platform to exhibit current and future latest innovation fruits of the world. Chinese Government thinks highly of the IPR protection work at the expo and has started a series of protection actions.
Tian Lipu introduced that, in 2004 the State Council of China issued Provisions on World Expo IPR Protection, in January 2007 the World Expo Organization Committee passed Outline on World Expo IPR Protection and in January 2010 eight departments including the SIPO and the Department of Security jointly printed and distributed Scheme on World Expo IPR Protection Special Campaign. At present, a vertical IPR protection mechanism involving legislation, justice, administrative enforcement and legal service has been formed in China.
