Report of Near Collapse for Domestic PC Brands

2010/08/18

Founder and Acer officially announced their co-operation details on 5th August, with the former transferring all its PC business to Acer, which is regarded by analysts as a sign that domestic PC brands are in face of a full-scale collapse. A report points out the Lenovo is the only exception due to its prior international strategies. Other PC manufacturers in China are also experiencing increasing pressure. Founder’s annual sale of 2009 showed an increase of 6%, but its profit rate was only 4.99%. Business for other brands such as Greatwall and Tsinghua Gongfang is also decreasing with a continuous tendency of low profit.
