Chinese paper-cut enters into the world intangible cultural heritage name list, many-regions jointly declared.

Paper-cut in Chongqing, as a joint declaration project with Hebei and Shaanxi has successfully passed the approval from UNESCO Intergovernmental Committee for Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection and is included in the "Representative List of Human Intangible Heritage." It is learned that a few days later, the Award ceremony will be held in Beijing. Chongqing paper-cut is mainly represented by Beibei paper cut and Yanxing Paper-cut. The former has a history of more than 1500 years with the beautiful softness, delicate designs, realistic techniques and the grave-based style whereas the later origins from ancient folk art, drawing essence from Chinese painting, printmaking, pyrography, fabric stickers, crafts and many other performance techniques. Yanxing paper-cut is wide in topics, mainly from working people loved historical story, folklore and characters, and reflects the expectations of the people on auspicious happiness.
