Wang Wei, CEO of Tudou.com stated in an interview that the website will soon conduct IPO and compete against youku.com, its biggest rival. It is said that Tudou.com will be listed half a year earlier than youku.com and become the third listed video website in China.

However, he had once stated that the company is established according to Nasdaq and the majority of its investors are from overseas, so it will choose Nasdaq to be listed. Tudou.com has a very similar commercial mode to that of ku6.com, which is also planning to get listed abroad.

　　At present, many popular western movies such as 2012 and Twilight 3 can be viewed for free. Once Tudou.com gets listed in America, the copyright owners of these movies will initiate lawsuits to maintain their rights, which will impose huge damages on Tudou.com if it loses the cases, according to some professionals.
