Producer of Hawthorn Tree Forever Investigates the Source of Internet Piracy

Since its release last weekend, Hawthorn Tree Forever, the new movie directed by Zhang Yimou has won a great box-office value of 42 million RMB in spite of controversial opinions.The problem is on the third of day of its release, there began to appear a download link of this movie on a video website named ‘ The First Screening Room ’ in a complete DVD version. Mr. Qin from the film producer New Picture Film Co. explains that the internet copyright of the movie has been sold to letv.com. the company will make a thorough investigation of the case and take legal measures accordingly. However, the low damages ( usually less than 0.5 million RMB) are not enough to stop piracy at all.
