International Seminar on TRIPS 15 Anniversary Held in Shanghai

On the tenth anniversary of Shanghai WTO Affairs Consultation Center (SCCWTO), an international seminar on the fifteenth anniversary of the Agreement On Trade-related Aspects of Intellectual Property Right (TRIPS) was held in Shanghai on November 4. The event was hosted by China’s Ministry of Commerce (MOC) and organized by SCCWTO. Chong Quan, Deputy China International Trade Representative from MOC, Tang Dengjie, Vice Mayor of Shanghai and Wang Xinkui, Vice-Chairman of the People’s Political Consultative Conference of Shanghai, addressed the meeting in succession. General Director of WTO Pascal Lamy made a video speech.

In the three-day meeting, officials from WTO, World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), together with scholars and enterprise representatives from home and abroad will have discussions in depth on topics related to the influence, adaption and improvement of TRIPS.
