Possible Free Transfer of "Bruce Lee" Trademark to Shannon Lee

2010/11/08

Shannon Lee's "overseas protection campaign" leads her to his father’s hometown Shunde. Recently she discussed with local departments on how to maintain the image and trademark of "Bruce Lee". On Nov. 1, the local authorities responded they would help solve the problem caused by the use of this trademark by lcoal district government and they may transfer Bruce Lee to related right holders. It means that even if Shunde is the birthplace of Bruce Lee, it can no longer use Bruce Lee’s image or trademark for free.

The district has built a local park and the mainland's first and largest Bruce Lee Memorial Hall, which collects large amounts of data for promoting Bruce Lee's image and spirit. The facilities are not for commercial use. This idea was highly approved by Shannon Lee, who still hoped that local government can transfer these trademarks to Bruce Lee Company, foundation as well as her mother and her for free. Related departments said that the government may agree to free transfer.
