When addressing at the 24th group study on of the Political Bureau members of the CPC Central Committee held on December 3, Chinese President Hu Jintao stresses, "China should take advantage of the fruits of the Shanghai World Expo to promote scientific development, discern world trends in scientific innovation and high-tech progress, work hard to make breakthroughs in core technologies to acquire more IPRs, develop those emerging strategic industries, step up training for creative talents and building an innovative country."

Hu also noted that China's experience in hosting the Shanghai World Expo should be used to further the country's scientific and social development, comprehensively understand development of human-centeredness, harmoniously and continually, actively change the development concept and the mode of innovation, accelerate the transformation of economic development and economic restructuring and promote sound and fast growth of economy in China.
