2011/02/24

The strategy on promoting the application of trademarks by administrations for industry and commerce in Hainan Province has yielded satisfying results, according to a working conference attended by officials in the province's trademark regime on February 16. By December 31, 2010, valid trademarks in Hainan have reached 18,234 on an accumulative basis, in which, 14 were recognized as "Well-known Trademarks in China" and 137 were awarded "Hainan Famous Trademarks".

Last year, administrations for industry and commerce in Hainan actively propelled the utilization of trademark by conducting general investigations to trademark resources in enterprises, factories and mines, countries and state-owned farms and holding an influential exhibition showing the notable progress in the implementation of the trademark strategy in the province. In 2010, 127 trademarks were registered for agricultural products, up 28% from a year earlier, which was the best performance ever in this regard.

Hainan Provincial Administration for Industry and Commerce signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the government of Ledong County at the meeting, which was also attended by 110 local enterprises that were all owners of Well-known Trademarks in Hainan or in China.
