Shanghai municipal government launched the “Opinions on promoting digital publishing industries” the other day. The Opinions emphasized the importance of enhancing intellectual property protection and incorporating online digital areas into the special campaign against piracy. Furthermore, it is required to develop digital copyright protection mechanisms, explore appropriate ways to protect digital publishing companies against IP infringements and subsidize certified digital publishing companies in computer software registrations.

Shanghai municipal government would prefer purchasing articles from digital publishing companies whose digital products and technology developed by independent innovations. Besides, those products would be incorporated into the list of Shanghai independent innovation products and the list of Shanghai governmental procurement of independent innovation products.
