The administrations for industry and commerce of 15 vice-provincial cities reached an agreement on improving trademark service mechanisms, implementing trademark strategies and combating trademark violations at a meeting convened on April 8. They also plan to jointly sign agreements on implementing national trademark strategies, establishing trademark demonstration cities and constituting trademark protection framework agreements to protect IPR related to international physical events such as the Youth Olympic Games.

In recent years, Nanjing has achieved a fast growth in trademark registrations. Up to now, valid trademarks in Nanjing are over 40 thousand, in which, 42 are Chinese famous trademarks, 236 are provincial well-known trademarks and 492 are municipal notable trademarks. Due to those accomplishments, in 2010, Nanjing was awarded as a national trademark strategy implementation demonstration city.
