Under the unified arrangements of Leading Group Office for the national special action on fight against IP infringements, making and selling counterfeit and shoddy goods, Ministry of Commerce and State Administration of Industry and Commerce jointly investigated a number of major cases in e-commerce area and online shopping lately.

According to reports, the investigated infringement cases in online shopping area have four characteristics. Since costumers pursue international brands, some stores sell fake brand products at low price; Taobao, eBay and other big online shopping platforms become the hardest hit of infringement and counterfeiting; clothing, mobile phones, watches, audio and video products, health products, pharmaceuticals and fashion products are the focus of infringements; such crimes are of large amount, wide range and low value and have the features of cross-region, organizational division of labor, specialization and cooperation.

It is learnt that related departments under the State Council will make further deployment, lay focus on key regions, key platforms and key areas, strengthen coordination among various departments and provinces, intensify crackdown and investigation efforts, strengthen publicity and guidance, fight against the sales of fake and shoddy goods in online shopping, and create satisfying, prosperous and orderly environment for online shopping.
