Jinan public security organs organized an activity at Quancheng Square to mark the day of combating economic crimes on May 15.

On that day, the authorities provided consultant service on economic crimes to the public; the administrations for industry and commerce, tax, drug supervision, quality and supervision as well as the municipal branch of People’s Bank jointly conducted an exhibition of over 30 fake articles varying from stereos, lubricants, soybean milk machines, cell phones, credit cards to stamps and machines used for making spurious bank cards and invoices.

Liu Changfa, vice leader of the economic investigation detachment of Jinan public security organ, said that since last year, the body has achieved remarkable results in combating all kinds of economic crimes. It has filed 1,385 cases and 1,305 of them have been concluded. In addition, 641 suspects were seized and 501 million yuan economic loss was avoided.

The city has also conducted a series of special campaigns on fighting against intellectual property infringement and manufacture and sales of counterfeit commodities.

In the special campaign named “Liang Jian”, the city filed 57 IP infringing cases and 53 of them have been resolved, 10 of them were related to agricultural materials, food, drugs and daily necessities, involving over 64.8 million yuan. 84 culprits were captured and 33 of them were arrested, 9 online fugitive criminals were seized, 11 dens producing fake products were destroyed and 6 criminal gangs were disrupted.

In the special campaign on combating fake invoices, relevant authorities have handled 81 cases on fake invoices, crashed 34 criminal gangs, arrested 175 suspects, destroyed 85 sites where fake invoices were produced and hidden, confiscated 1,384 pieces of fake invoices.

In the special campaign on cracking down upon crimes related to bank cards, the authorities have filed 480 cases involving over 22 million yuan, in which, 452 were solved and more than 3.29 economic losses were avoided. In addition, 77 suspects were arrested and 900 bank cards were confiscated.

All these actions have effectively purified the city’s financial environment and helped to safeguard the market order.

Furthermore, Jinan public security organs have destroyed 760 cartons of fake drugs with over 1,600 varieties and destructed more than 3.2 million pieces of spurious invoices confiscated in the special campaigns.
