2011/05/27

Statistics show that by May 13, 2011, 114,280 cases valued at 373.3 billion yuan have been filed by administrative enforcement agencies at all levels in China since October last year, when a special crackdown on combating IPR infringement and counterfeiting was officially launched, said Yao Jian, spokesman of the Ministry of Commerce (MOC) on May 17. Among those cases, 65,868 have been concluded and 1,119 have been transferred to judicial organs. 7,359 counterfeit production outlets have been shut down.

According to Yao, in the next stage, the leading group of the special campaign will work together with relevant authorities to step up the crackdown and try to develop a permanent mechanism to curb IPR infringement. In addition, an exhibition will be organized in late June to demonstrate the achievements made in the campaign across the country.
