Hubei: Xiaogan City registered over 3,000 cases during anti-counterfeit campaign

From December 2010 when the special campaign against IP infringement and counterfeiting kicked off until the end of June this year, Xiaogan, a city in Hubei Province, had registered 50 million yuan worth of 3,050 cases involved with IP infringement and counterfeiting, reported from Xiaogan Municipal Commerce Bureau on July 11.

Up to the end of June, 2011, Xiaogan City had sent out 8,000 law enforcement officers, conducted over 1,000 inspection activities, checked up10,000 operation holders, rectified 360 key areas and inspected 380 wholesale and retail markets and commodity trading markets.

The special campaign was focused on the protection of copyrights, trademarks, patents and new varieties of plants, targeted at rectification of such industries as press and publishing, cultural entertainment, high technology and agriculture, centered around the inspection over books, audio-visual products, software, exported goods, auto parts, cell phones, medicine and seeds. It achieved remarkable results in combating counterfeits and IPR infringement and purified the market environment.
