China vows to step up IPR protection for animation works

In an effort to support creation, production and broadcasting of animation works through application and examination, step up IPR protection and promote the commercialization, the Ministry of Culture, the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television, and the General Administration of Press and Publication jointly issued a Circular on Declaration of State High-Quality Animation Works Project recently.

Under the circular, the three authorities would receive the application materials for the project starting from August 1 to September 30. Any domestic legal person or registered group engaging in animation production in China could file a request. The circular also requires the authorities to support the projects by establishing a commercialization promotion platform, organizing public education and strengthenning IPR protection.
