China to develop new materials industry during next five years

The "12th Five-year Plan" for New Materials Industry, jointly carried out by the State Development and Reform Commission (SDRC) and the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, will  be soon released, said a spokesman of the SDRC. The Plan highlights indigenous innovation and the development of new materials industry owning indigenous intellectual property in the period of the "12th Five-year Plan".　　

According to the Plan, a special fund will be set for the new materials industry to support its development. A sound investing and financing insurance system will also be established to encourage non-state capital investing new materials industry. The goal is to establish a large-scale and well-equipped new materials industry with self-renovation capability and indigenous intellectual property as of 2015.
