2012/02/15

China's State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO) head Tian Lipu was invited to hold phone talks on January 31, 2012 with Director-General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Francis Gurry. They exchanged opinions on many issues including mutual cooperation.

After extending new year's greetings to Gurry and other WIPO personnel, Tian said, over the last year, SIPO and WIPO have cooperated in many areas. Top officials of both sides have held many meetings to continuously consolidate traditional cooperation areas such as the PCT related issues and gold medals for the China Patent Awards, and to expand new collaborative fields in design and data exchange.

Having wished a happy Chinese lunar new year to SIPO staff, Gurry expressed his appreciation for China's enormous achievements in intellectual property in 2011, expecting to continuously strengthen exchanges and cooperation between WIPO and SIPO.
