National IP Criminal Protection Seminar held in Zhejiang

On December 14, the Ministry of Public Security held a seminar on IP criminal protection in Wenzhou City, Zhejiang Province. In recent years, the public security sector made notable achievements in fighting against counterfeit wine and drugs.

The seminar was staged to enhance information exchange between public security agencies and enterprises, hear suggestions on IP criminal protection work and discuss the work plan to combat upon counterfeiting. Political Commissar at the Economic Crime Investigation Bureau under the Ministry of Public Security Gao Feng, Vice Director of Zhejiang Provincial Public Security Department Ye Hanbing, Member of the Standing Committee of CPC Wenzhou Municipal Committee and Director of Wenzhou Municipal Public Security Bureau Huang Baokun attended and delivered the seminar.

Since two years ago when the special campaign against IP infringement and the manufacture and distribution of shoddy items was launched, the public security agencies in Wenzhou City recorded 1,118 cases involving IP violation and counterfeiting products, closed 974, hunt down 1,146 suspects, arrested 289 offenders, transferred 276 criminals and destroyed 614 dens where fake items were made and distributed. And the total value involved in these cases reached 144 million yuan. At the seminar, Wenzhou Municipal Public Security Bureau aired their experience, introduced the work on combating IP infringement, main tactics and relevant detect tactics. They particularly elaborated on the application of cluster combat in fighting against IP infringement.
