Shaanxi: Patents granted for 3,475 inventions in Xi’an

As of the end of 2012, invention patents in force in Shaanxi province have recorded up to 11,316, ranking the tenth in China. Every ten thousand local residents held an average of 3.02 such patents, ranking the eighth across the nation.

In 2010, 2011 and 2012, patent applications in the province broke 20,000, 30,000 and 40,000 respectively, doubled every two years since 2008.

Patent quality in the province has also been increasingly improved. In 2012, patent grants hit 14,908, in which 4,018 were issued for inventions, ranking the ninth across the country and the second in Western China.
