CR Vanguard was Sued for Selling Fake “Bramble” Toys

Shenzhen Mengshiqi Trading Co.,Ltd. (Shenzhen Mengshiqi) sued against China Resources Vanguard Co., Ltd (CR Vanguard), a leading Chinese grocery retailer for the latter corporation producing and selling toys in the images of Briar, Bramble and Logger Vick (the characters in a well-known Chinese cartoon Boonie Bears) whose exclusive right belongs to it. Shenzhen Mengshiqi asked the court to order CR Vanguard stop infringement immediately, apology publicly for the behavior through the media, and compensate over 60,000 yuan for its economic losses and other reasonable expenses. Recently, the Beijing Fengtai District People’s Court accepted the case.
