China's Total Trademark Applications Expected to Reach 5 Million in 2017

On September 2, it is learned from the 2017 China Trademark Festival High-level Forum, in the first half of 2017, China’s trademark applications totaled 2.27 million, an increase of 30.81% over the same period of last year. It is expected that the total number this year will reach 5 million. Themed as “Trademark& Brand Protection–Innovation, Sharing and Development”, the 2017 China Trademark Festival was held in the city of Guilin, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
Starting from 2005, China has been ranking the first in the Madrid system with 22,314 applications. China has kept internationalizing its corporate brands at an accelerated pace, resulting in its trademark applications overseas on the rise rapidly. Statistics show that the trademark applications of Chinese enterprises in other countries have totaled over 300,000.
