Sinopec Group Wins in China's First Anti- Monopoly Case in the Petroleum System

Yunnan Higher People’s Court made a second-instance judgment for China’s first anti-monopoly case in the petroleum system, affirming the original judgment by rejecting all the claims of Yunnan Yingding Biological Energy Corporation Ltd. (Yunnan Yingding), which means that its claim of requiring Sinopec Group to include biodiesel into Sinopec’s marketing system in Yunnan. It is not only a 3-year dispute over monopoly or non-monopoly in the 4 trials, but also stands for an insurmountable development bottleneck of the biodiesel industry.
