On November 30 and December 1, 2017 the Five Trademark Offices (TM5) Annual Meeting was held in Alicante, Spain. (The five offices are from China, Europe, Korea, Japan, and the United States.) Progress reports on 13 cooperative projects were given at the meeting. As examples, some of the projects were the "Bad Faith Trademark Project*1" and the "Image Search Project*2" led by the Japan Patent Office (JPO), and the "User Association Involvement Project*3" co-led by the JPO and the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO). In addition, the lead offices made proposals on how their respective projects should be advanced, inducing active discussions. Also, the TM5 Offices agreed to advance further cooperation on three new projects such as the "Quality Management Project*4", which was co-proposed by the JPO and the EUIPO.
