Sony/ATV and Facebook Sign Ground-Breaking Copyright Licensing Agreement

On January 8, Sony/ATV Music Publishing and Facebook signed a multi-territory, multi-year licensing agreement that will let Sony/ATV's songwriters earn royalties from the use of their music on both Facebook and Instagram. The licensing agreement will allow Facebook users to post videos and music with content from artists signed by Sony/ATV. This is the second large deal Facebook has signed with a music licensing company in recent months: Last month, it signed a multi-year deal with Universal Music Group.
