125 Thousand IP Cases Concluded by Beijing IP Court with 5 Years

Since establishment on 2013, Beijing IP Court has accepted and concluded many cases with rapid growth year on year. 36.8 thousand cases have been concluded on 2017 which is twice as many as that of 15.6 thousand cases in 2013. In total, there are 125 thousand concluded IP cases including 5,229 patent cases, over 30 thousand trademark cases and more than 70 thousand copyright cases. These efforts intend to strengthen the protection of core and leading edge technological achievements in high-tech field, crack drown on fake trademark and unfair competition behaviors according to law and guarantee development of cultural innovation industry etc. Regarding problems of low cost of infringement and high cost of safeguarding rights, Beijing courts fully consider IP market value and make infringers pay heavy price and the average sentenced compensation amount reaches 1.41 million yuan of patent infringement cases judged by Beijing IP Court.
