The 3rd China IP Annual Forum —— prestigious event for In-house IP managers in China

The 3rd China IP Annual Forum was successfully concluded on January 10th, 2013 in Beijing. The forum, which is a prestigious event for Chinese in-house IP managers, was jointly hosted by China IP magazine and IPR Channel of China Daily Website. Over 300 people, including government officials, directors of IP associations, IP managers from domestic and international enterprises, scholars and experts of well-known universities, IP judges and representatives from IP service agencies attended the Forum. Topics like realizing the professional value of in-house IP managers during economic transitions were hotly discussed.

 

One moment of great significance during the Forum was when the host released the Report on the Career Situation of IP Managers in China. With the aim of fully and truly depicting the current situation and development trends of IP managers in China and let them be better understood by society, the host conducted research on the career situation of IP managers in China from August to December in 2012. Based on extensive questionnaire feedbacks, scientific statistics and interviews of some IP managers, the report was accomplished with comprehensive contents and statistics. The report is considered to be the first comprehensive and realistic report in China reflecting the current and development situations of IP managers.

 

The award ceremony was another upsurge in the Forum. The awards unfolded under great expectations. There were four awards presented during the Forum: Outstanding In-house IP Managers in China (2012), China IP Most Influential People (2012), China IP Special Award of Merit (2012), China IP Lifetime Achievement Award. 20 IP managers from domestic and transnational corporations were awarded as the “Outstanding In-house IP Managers in China (2012).” Prof. Liu Chuntian, Prof. Qu Sanqiang, and Jack Chang won the award of “China IP Most Influential People (2012).” As the leading authority on intellectual property law and international treaties Prof. Guo Shoukang of Law School at Renmin University of China was honored with the “China IP Lifetime Achievement Award.” Moreover, 8 IP organizations won the prize of the “China IP Special Award of Merit (2012).”
